Join us at Vault Gallery on November 10 from 11 am - 5 pm for the opening of
"Force Majeure"- 20 years of large scale painting by Charles Johnston,
an eclectic mix of excerpts from various phases of the artist's 20 year career engaged in the creation of large scale paintings; the 'flip side', if you will, of a very public career painting billboards and murals during the same span of time.
The show includes works associated with a variety of themes that Charles has explored through the years in an attempt to describe an ongoing fascination with the 'grand scale' format, and the relationship between the macrocosm and the microcosm in art.
